  • Description: The film approaches a new form of visual music based upon object identification and then veers off into a profound new direction based upon randomly ordered variations of montage rhythms in time. A Harlem jazz drummer performed a "unique and original accompaniment of drums only" for the film's New York City screening on March 14, 1926, and on the same day at the London Film Society the program notes stated, "Mr. George Antheil was engaged in the composition of music for this picture but, according to Mr. Léger, his music is not likely to be suitably ready for some time and a jazz accompaniment suggested by Mr. Léger will accordingly be played instead". 2K digital restoration from 35mm 1.33:1 black & white with color tints silent 20fps, camera Dudley Murphy, Man Ray, Ezra Pound; production assistant Charles Delacommune, Étienne Lallier, Otto G.
